Our Healing Journey
I have swayed between the academic space (education, policy, advoacy, social justice) and the wellness space. What I've learned is that at the heart of what I am passionate about is love. A love for people, a love for a better humanity. It is my love and desire for an improved humanity that led me to reiki. In 2022 I attended an annual work retreat, we were supposed to decompress from the work we do with fighting for racial equity. I found myself comfortably laying on a table trying in-person reiki for the first time. What was an opportunity to focus on healing myself to make my emotionally exhausting work less "heavy" became an opportunity for me to be a vessel to heal others. Fast forward and I can became a certified reiki practitioner under the Usui Reiki lineage.
Prior to reiki I turned my experience with chronic eczema into a business focused on clean living that offered handmade incense as an alternative to toxic candles, an ebook that supports your transition to whole diet veganism and blended essential oils to improve your health. This blossomed into a deeper journey of holistic healing. Blending essential oils for physical and emotional wellness opened the door to a more intuitive, energetic path. Today, that same spirit of natural care continues through my Reiki. Rooted in divine intuition and formal energy healing training, my work is about helping others reconnect, realign, and restore balance from the inside out.
I also offer soundbath sessions and serve retreats, conferences, educators, children, expecting mothers, and those experiencing grief.

What is reiki
Reiki is a laying on of hands touch healing system of incomparable ease and power. The traditional Reiki story begins in the 1800s in Japan, but Reiki was ancient even then. Reiki is not a religion, it is a spiritual practice that can support anyone of any background and belief.
During an in-person treatment Reiki energy flows from the practitioner’s hands into the client. The client is usually lying on a Reiki table but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The client remains fully clothed. The practitioner places her/his hands on (a very light touch) or near the clients’ body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. These positions correspond to the chakra energy centers. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the clients needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. The whole treatment usually lasts between 30 and 90 minutes. In my practice I send distant reiki through my hands, which means I am envisioning moving my hands over your body. The distant session is equally effective. In fact, all of my client testimonies were from distant sessions.
